Salty Grits is a family owned and operated situational awareness and self-defense program tailored specifically for the real estate professional. The Mother and Daughter team  provide education, tools, and resources for their clients. This comprehensive approach to life saving techniques will better prepare anyone for hostile threats and dangerous situations.  Jackie Browning and Jennifer Knight first began working together as partners in real estate in 2020. Since then they have built this program and overcome many obstacles.  They strongly believe in the "Roll Tide" way of life.

THE STRENGTH OF AN ELEPHANT

Also, being from Alabama, Jackie and Jennifer were raised watching college football, specifically University of Alabama (Roll Tide!). The mascot of U of A is an elephant, which is where their passion for this animal began.  

FUN FACT: The elephant mascot was selected by Alabama in 1930 when a journalist compared the men of this team as being tough, fast, and aggressive. During a game between Alabama and Mississippi, it was said that “the earth started to tremble, there was a distant rumble that continued to grow and some excited fan in the stands bellowed, ‘Hold your horses, the elephants are coming’. From then on they were referred to as the red elephants (crimson jerseys). Read about the elephant story here.

Elephants are the largest living land animals, they are known for their emotional intelligence in which they feel compassion just like humans do, and are very self-aware. They are warm and affectionate, but strong and protective. Jackie and Jennifer have a very personal connection with these majestic creatures, because they want to represent Salty Grits the same way an elephant would.  These are strong women on a mission to help others, and will let nothing stop them.
